Berlin based photography gallery C/O Berlin will open the exhibition year 2023 with a William Eggleston exhibition, from January 28 to May 4, 202. The title will be “Mystery of the Ordinary”. “How do we perceive the world, and what would it be without color?” will the exhibition ask. It’s all about color in photography which is not too long accepted in art photography. Eggleston, together with Saul Leiter and others, was on of the first bringing color into the center of art photography. “Early on, Eggleston recognized the distinctive power and unique compositional possibilities that nuanced color offered for capturing entire visual worlds. Like no other photographer, he imbued the everyday with mystery: color simultaneously became an element and a chance to penetrate and scrutinize reality”, writes C/O Berlin, announcing the new exhibition. Other highlights of C/O Berlin in 2023 will be exhibitions with Daidō Moriyama, Jochen Lempert, and Mary Ellen Mark.
